Case Study: ePermit At St Fergus Gas Terminal

This case study from Mineral Blue describes the implementation of the ePermit electronic Permit-to-Work system at St Fergus Gas Terminal in north-east Scotland.

St Fergus is a notoriously difficult construction site. A cold wind blows off the North Sea, and chills bones beyond freezing. It’s also a nationally critical gas infrastructure facility, providing 20 per cent of the UK’s gas needs. To prevent terrorism the site is protected 24 hours a day by armed police guards.

Management estimates that the total saving from using ePermit was £5m, from a total project spend of £120m.
