FleXeDrive: Saving time and setting new standards

In a world that seems to be constantly speeding up, heavy industries like mining are subject to rapid fluctuations in commodity prices. When that happens, they need to quickly ramp up production to meet the changing demand.

And that can mean acquiring new infrastructure to support their operations, just as fast. Responding to this kind of demand, SEW-EURODRIVE has introduced FleXeDrive, an industrial drive solution that sets new standards in drive technology, assembled and delivered in industry leading timeframes.

High capacity drilling

Atlas Copco has developed, and will continue developing, a full range of compressors known as the DrillAir range.

This range of compressors is specifically developed to cover a multitude of drilling applications.

The DrillAir range is built scientifically around the principals of pressure and flow.

The focus of the design is the relationship between these two variables and for the compressor to find the combination which is right for the application – to improve the efficiency aspects of time spent and fuel consumed.

With the DrillAir range you achieve the maximum air flow at any pressure setting.

There is no such thing as one size fits all when it comes to efficient drilling. Depending on the depth of hole and the size of the hammer the right product makes all the difference.

The DrillAir range gives you the opportunity to choose a product which is right for your core business, while giving you the flexibility to adapt to changes in well depth and hammer size for any custom applications.

Rio Tinto iron ore sentry guarding project

CADDS Group used Bentley’s digital modeling applications to pilot its innovative guarding system across 17 iron ore facilities, reducing costs by 30% and site investigation by 24 days.

Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) engaged CADDS Group to conduct a site-guarding audit for its mine and port facilities in Western Australia to identify hazards and design, construct, and install new guarding for high-risk areas.

The estimated $80 million project required CADDS to obtain existing plant information and documentation at all 17 sites and complete the guarding work within a 12-week plant shutdown cycle.

Working on brownfield sites with dated infrastructure that needed to be upgraded, CADDS required a digital, standardized design approach to complete the project on time.

Mining the benefits of better project cost management

Mining companies must weather “boom to bust” cycles to remain competitive. The organisations that have been the most successful in today’s highly volatile minerals market are the ones that embraced digitalisation.

This brochure outlines the benefits your mining organisation can realise after implementing a comprehensive project cost management software solution.

Technology in mining plays a valuable role in driving productivity. A robust project cost management solution allows organisations to easily assess historical resource information and costs related to past projects.

This is invaluable in helping minimise the time and risk involved in creating and validating new estimates and budgets. Imagine being able to analyse workflows and quickly centralise cost and productivity data.

With a digital cost estimating solution, organisations gain more accurate budgeting and forecasting. They are able to capture, analyse and capitalise on this information and understand the key variables that drive productivity from best-case to more probable outcomes.
