Belt mis-tracking is an all-too-common occurrence that can have a dramatic effect on unscheduled downtime for mine operators.
A recent inspection carried out at a Newcastle coal terminal identified a number of tracking issues on its stacker conveyors, including one stacker mis-tracking by more than 120mm causing daily belt trips.
The installation of a Tru-Trac tracker saved the plant up to 140 minutes of unscheduled downtime per conveyor each week.
