Evolution optimises its narrow-vein stopes with Emesent Hovermap

Emesent

Narrow vein mining methods have been with us for centuries, but these methods are adapting. They are harnessing modern technologies to reduce dilution and improve recovery and safety.

Digital capture, modelling and mapping technologies that enrich orebody knowledge are where the mining sector is heading.

In February 2020, Evolution’s Mungari operation deployed the Emesent Hovermap mobile LiDAR scanner for stopes and drives to replace its CMS.

The team no longer needs to splice shadowed CMS data to calculate stope shapes, as Hovermap provides complete stope coverage.

In addition to enabling fast calculation of stope shapes, the team are able to easily and quickly identify dilution-causing structures and overbreak. Read the full case study to find out more.
