Aggreko’s extensive experience in the mining sector and our presence in the area allowed the company to devise a solution that would meet the stacker power demands at BHP’s South Flank iron ore mine in Western Australia and deploy it rapidly.
Aggreko designed, engineered, installed and then commissioned a temporary power station that bridged the power gap for the new technology the mine required – and the installation was completed within weeks.
The solution consisted of three megawatts of power, supplied by our reliable, mobile and modular diesel generators, with enough fuel tanks on site to allow for continuous operation and contingencies. A 33 kilovolt transformer was also part of the power package.
