This case study has shown the effectiveness and ingenuity of a new procedure used by Minprovise International in the repair and refurbishment of the stick and boom on the world’s biggest excavators, the RH400.
Called the “shark bite” because it cuts into the stick to affect refurbishment, causing a chunk to be “bitten” out that resembles the shape of a great white’s jaws.
This refurbishment is highly technical and recreates a piece of the stick, instead of patching over it, in line with OEM standards.
